Periodontal Changes and Oral Health

Periodontal disease is represented by inflammatory processes that affect the tooth’s support / anchoring system and lead to tooth loss and negative effects on the oral health. Tooth loss and decreasing number of contacts between antagonist teeth was placed in relation to the educa‐ tional level, marital status and incomes. Changes in periodontal status have been associated with oral factors and different systemic diseases.
